The Gospel is Good News!
Each Sunday at 1:00pm, we present the Good News of God’s free gift – eternal life.
Mankind has sinned against God, and as a result, no one is good enough to just slide into Heaven. There is not enough “good deeds” that anyone can do to pay for sinning against God. But God is love, and “In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation* for our sins.” (1 John 4:10). God has taken the initiative to provide a sacrifice to pay for our sins. He gave his only Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, to pay for those sins.
“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 6:23)
“But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8)
But God also gives us a warning, “He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.” (John 3:36)
Your eternal future rests on your decision that you make while living this life. Once you die, there is no second chance. “And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment.” (Hebrews 9:27)
*Propitiation is the turning away of the wrath of God as the just judgment of our sin by the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross.
